APRIL 26, 2015 - PETITCODIAC 22BR MATCH - RESULTS

Today's shoot at Petitcodiac was well attended with 20 shooters on hand. This required 4 different relays of 30 minutes each - times two - for a total of 50 counting shots fired. Lots of waiting for everyone - time well spent in talking about the new wind flags, the scores shot, the wind (or lack thereof) and updating what's happening with our friends and shooting colleagues.

The weather started out quite cold with temperatures around the freezing mark. It gradually got a little warmer but not up to the predicted 10C. The winds were really very mild for Petitcodiac but treated each relay differently. The first 2 relays had no wind at all while later relays had a variety of cross winds and down range winds - but still only about 5km/hr in gusts with lots of quiet periods. The last relay of the day had to deal with fairly heavy rain showers and longer periods of calm winds. All-in-all a cold that chilled you to the bone but for the stove that was kept cozy hot by several of the shooters.

These conditions helped us to record some very respectable scores including 9 "possible" targets of 250 points. Special congratulations to Cecil H. (26X) and Barb J. (20X) who each shot 500 for the match and entered the exalted Petitcodiac 500 Club - Barb for the very first time. Good shooting friends! Congratulations also go to Don M. who just had cataract surgery, tried out a new BRNO target rifle and shot with new ammo - and still shot a very respectable 490/14X.

Thanks go to whole host of people who  made this match possible and enjoyable. Dan G. was the Match Director and Scorer while Shelly C. verified the scoring.
