Last Sunday was the last CF Benchrest shoot in Minto for the month of August and shot at the same time, the RNBRA Centerfire Benchrest Provincial Championship hosted by the Minto Gun Club. It was a fine day for a shoot although it did get a little warm in the afternoon. The sun was out all day so it was bright with some glare on the targets which seemed to bother very few shooters. Mirage, although present and somewhat bothersome, did not seem to bother many shooters either. The wind was generally quite manageable and was predominantly from 3 o'clock and 6 o'clock with infrequent and lazy switches at, at most, about 10km/hr. Very nice conditions for centerfire - but enough to keep the shooters on their toes.

An organizing committee for the RNBRA Championships had been struck at the last Minto Gun Club AGM. Conrad L. was the Chairman of the committee with members David C., Wayne K., Don M. and Bert deV. making the preparations for this event. All the feedback received was positive and the championship match was a success from both the shooters' and organizers' point of view. We look forward to the Rimfire Benchrest Championship on September 5th, also hosted by the Minto Gun Club.
