It was a pretty good day for a Centerfire Benchrest Shoot in Minto with temperatures around 6C in the morning going up to about 10C once the sun came out. At first it was very cloudy with almost no winds - an unusual thing for Minto. As the day wore on, the cloud cover dissipated and the sun came out with resulting increased winds - although they still remained quite mild with only occasionally a gust getting up to 10-15Km/hr.
A good number of shooters came out (12) - many shooting both Open and Sporter classes. Clearly we all enjoyed getting re-acqainted - those that had hibernated during the winter - and we certainly enjoyed the shooting despite the occasional cross fire that led to some extended talk at the bench. Some very good scores were posted, most notably Terry McN. who scored the only perfect score at 300 with 22 Xs. Congrats to Terry - good shooting!Today's shoot was quarterbacked by Match Director Wayne K. who also did the scoring with Don M. verifying the scores. Bruce B. was the chief RO with Bert deV. filling in for some of the relays. A large and mottly crew consisting of Conrad L., Gerry J., Bruce B., Grant P. Jr., Ron M., John McC. and Terry McN. went down the range several times to change targets. Many thanks to all who helped out.
