SEPTEMBER 24, 2017 - MINTO - 22BR OPEN AND SPORTER - RESULTS

Today was a gorgeous day for a shoot in Minto. The sun was out all day with no clouds anywhere. Temperatures went from about 4 to 24C - very unusually high temps for this time in September.
The wind was from 0 to 20km/hr mostly from the left. This is misleading as most of the time it was non-existent or very light. The most important aspect of the wind was not its velocity but its direction - if you did not wait for your condition patiently enough and shot in a changing wind it would cost you a point. Surprise!!
Some very good scores were recorded and congrats go to Bert deV. for shooting a 400/22X.
Wayne K. was the Match Director and head scorer with Don M. and John McC. verifying the scores and the stats. The Range Officers were Cecil H., Barb J., John McC., and Bert deV. The Target Changers were George M., Guy H., Bert deV., John McC., Bruce B., and Barb J. Thanks to all for your help and thanks to Barb J. for all the good treats as well.
During the shoot, Don M. was presented with his Minto 300 Club Badge which were handed out while he was in Newfoundland.

SEPTEMBER 17, 2017 - THE MARTIN F. TOPF CHAMPIONSHIP - RESULTS

Today was the much awaited final 22BR shoot in Petitcodiac - the Martin F. Topf Rimfire Championship. We had spent the whole year qualifying for this championship and here it
was at last with perfect conditions.

The weather certainly co-operated with 20C in the afternoon, overcast skies and little or no wind at all. The shooting gods were definitely on our side.
Today, Volker T. was the Match Director and the head scorer. Dan G. did the score and stats verification. The Range Officers were Dan G., Darryl K. and John McC. Target changers were Dan G., John McC., Shelly C. and George M. The wonderful treats were brought by Shelly C., Barb J. and Dan G. Thanks to all.

Halfway through the match we went to the clubhouse to have a lunch provided by John C. and the Petitcodiac Sportsman's Club. As usual this was a very enjoyable time and increased our camaraderie while decreasing our tension regarding the match.

Speaking of the shooting, this was truly a very high level of shoot with the top 5 shooters all attaining a perfect 500. There was a lot of celebration after the scores were in as Barb J. shot a 500/29X; Dan G. shot a 500/28X; Darryl shot a 500/27X; Dave C. shot a 500/24X and Shelly C. shot a 500/22X. This was Barb's first win in a championship and Dave's first 500 score (he joins the ever expanding PSC 500 club). Congratulations to all winners!!

SEPTEMBER 3, 2017 - PETITCODIAC CF BR - RESULTS.

Sunday after the Fredericton Gun Show. Many people were still sleeping, I think, when it was time to go to Petitcodiac for the last CF shoot of the regular schedule. We had 8 shooters which meant only 2
relays of 4 shooters each. The shoot went by quickly and we were back on the road at about 12:30pm.

The weather was just gorgeous today. A bit cool (windbreaker weather) but not too cool. Sunny and nice and warm in the sun. A slight
breeze mostly from 12:00 o'clock which picked up gradually as time wore on. The last relays were shot with 10-12 km/hr winds which were very benign compared to what we usually face in Petitcodiac.

Dan G. was the Match Director, the head scorer,
target changer and the Timbits bringer. John McC. was the score verifier, RO and target setter/changer. Shelly C. also verified scores, changed targets and brought her delicious squares. Bert deV. was the other RO and target changer. Dave C. and Cecil H., also changed the targets. Thanks to all for helping out today.
