JUNE 25, 2023 - MINTO - RIMFIRE BR - RESULTS

The was a little mist in the air for the early arrivers, and the ground was very wet for the target changers. Broken clouds slowly gave way to a sunny day. Humidity was very high and temperatures increased from 25c - 28c. Winds were a light 7-11 km/hr, WNW – SSW – N – NW – N with periods of moderate gusting. Picking your favourable wind condition was key.

Fourteen shooters participated, 11 shooting Open Class and 3 shooting Sporter Class.

Competition was tight in the Open Class with many clean targets, the X count became critical.

JUNE 18, 2023 - PETITCODIAC - 17TH ANNUAL RIMFIRE TEAM SHOOT - RESULTS

17th Annual .22lr NB Benchrest Team Shoot

Today the Petitcodiac Sportsmens Club hosted the Annual .22 Rimfire Team Shoot. A total of 19 shooters attended from the three original clubs participating in this event, including the Minto Gun Club, Lake George Gun Club and the Petitcodiac Sportsmens Club. We would have had more participants, but several were away due to travel and medical concerns. We wish them all well and full recovery.
The weather was dismal, to say the least; starting off with a downpour of rain for the first relay. But then the weather slowly improved with less rain showers and 12C temps, and light to moderate winds. But, the winds were still challenging as gathered by the reactions of the numerous windflags sitting on the range. Occasionally, a groan could be heard from the shooting benches, as a shooter whose perfect shot was enhanced by the adored wind goddess! The negative effects of the weather was soon overridden by the high spirits and camaraderie of the shooters. Sweets were partaken by all shooters courtesy of Barb J. Always a treat. Later at lunch break, the sandwiches were enjoyed with the yummy peanut butter cookies provided by Dorothy McC. Thanks ladies, we are spoiled! Thanks to Grant for organizing the lunch break.
At the end of the match, shooters gathered at the clubhouse for a presentation of medals for the top three scoring shooters: Wayne LeB. 1st , John C., 2nd, and Grant H., third. Good shooting guys. We see that Grant's new Anschutz 2013 BR50 is serving him well.
The Team Bullet trophy was presented to the 1st place Petti team having a total score of 1539x48. Lake George was 2nd with a score of 1534x62, and 3rd place went to Minto with a score of 1514x46. On behalf of PSC, thanks to our Range Officers, Dan, Bruce, and Dale, who all did a fine job keeping the relays running smoothly. And hats off to the target crew of Dan, John McC., Bruce, and to Dave for score Verifying. Thanks, Barb, for the photos. Adios for now until next week's benchrest shoot, and we'll do this again next year.
Your Director, Volker.

MAY 28, 2023 - MINTO - RIMFIRE BENCHREST MATCH - RESULTS

The morning began with the 2nd Quarterly meeting being held. It was a beautiful sunny day, temperatures ranged from 14c when we arrived and quickly got warmer as the day progressed, reaching 32c. Winds were predominantly westerly and brisk at 15+ and gusting 25+ km/hr when the shooting began. The winds steadily increased, reaching 26+ and gusting to 50+ km/hr by the end of the shoot. Needless to say, this presented a great challenge for all. Sixteen shooters participated, 11 shooting Open class and 6 shooting Sporter class.
