APRIL 25, 2021 - PETITCODIAC - ANNUAL RF TEAM SHOOT AT 100YD - RESULTS

Well today was an interesting event for sure - a 100yd rimfire match in pretty challenging winds. The wind gods favoured us by providing sunshine and no rain plus nice temperatures. The winds were fairly light (and tricky) before noon, but afterwards, the wind did pick up with varying direction and intensity. Shooters scoring "Tens" in the first relays were happy to get "Nines" at times on the second relay. It was all good competition and camaraderie - a full day of good shooting.
Mid-way through the match we stopped for a meal. Thanks to John C. for arranging the food and facilities. Everyone was well fed. Thanks also to Dorothy McC. for the tasty sweets. And to Barb J. as well for the tasty sweets enjoyed in the shooting hut throughout the match.
Thanks to all the people helping out with Range Officer duty including Mike C., Bruce B. and Darryl K. Thanks also to those who helped to change the targets including Charles McQ., Chris S., Dan G., Dale H., and John McC. Thanks also to John McC. and John M. for verifying the scores and stats. Thanks especially to Volker T. who organized the match, was the match director and did all the scoring.
Unfortunately, there was a hiccup in the end-of-match calculations which showed Minto Team #1 as having taken first place. Further review, long after the shoot was over, found an arithmetic error which placed them behind Team PSC.  Apologies for this error to those shooters affected. Your Match Director, Volker T.
Individual medals were presented to the highest 3 individual shooters. Mike C. shot the best individual score of 385/4X; Volker T. was second best with 379/13X and Matt McA. was next with 377/12X. The top team will have its members' names engraved  on a club plaque.

APRIL 4, 2021 - MINTO CENTERFIRE BR - RESULTS

April 4 and two weeks into spring. You'd think it would be warm and sunny with birds singing and crocuses coming up out of the ground. But no - this is New Brunswick after all. So we had a cold morning with temperatures starting at about -4C in the morning and rising to +4C in the afternoon. The sky stayed grey all day with not even a hint of sunshine.

The wind was biting cold and everything we had been wearing all winter was welcome today. Noses and fingers were frozen. It blew in from the north at a steady 25km/hr with gusts to 45. Later in the day it slowed a little but was still difficult to deal with. It was kindest to heavy 308 bullets moving them about 1/2 inch and much less kind to light 224 bullet which were pushed over an inch.
