MAY 23, 2021 - PETITCODIAC RIMFIRE BENCHREST - RESULTS

It was a wonderful day for a rimfire benchrest shoot in Petitcodiac. Although the weatherman had called for rain this was not supposed to happen until the shoot was finished - we thought. The shoot started out with an overcast sky, very little wind and lots of blackflies. The wind early on was manageable with a few switches. Halfway through the 4th relay we had some rain that developed into a cloud burst well until after the match was completed. Although lots of water came off the roof, during this time there was absolutely no wind - the tails on the flags were hanging still and bedraggled with no movement. With some patience some very nice scores were shot during this time. A warm welcome to new shooter Richard P.

MAY 16, 2021 - MINTO RIMFIRE BENCHREST - RESULTS

Today was a beautiful day for a benchrest shoot in Minto with warm temperatures (a lot better than last week - what do they say about weather in the Maritimes? "If you don't like the weather, just wait 10 minutes and it will change!").
The wind was very tricky with gusting winds ranging from 10 to about 30km/hr. with small periods of quiet. They were mostly from the right at 3 o'clock in the first relays and switched to 12 to 3 o'clock winds later in the day. It was warm and sunny from time to time but with the winds there was little or no mirage.
Many people helped to make this a good shoot for all. Thanks to Mike C. who was the Match Director and score verifier. Don M. helped organize the shoot and scored the targets. Dale H., Stephen H., George M. and Wayne L. helped to set and change the
targets while Dale H., Matt McA., Dave C. and Darryl K. were the ROs. Dave C. brought the coffee and donuts and Barb J. brought her wonderful cookies. Many thanks to you all.

MAY 9, 2021 - PETITCODIAC CENTERFIRE BR - RESULTS

It didn't look like it would be a very good day for shooting when we started out in the morning. It was cold (actually very close to 0C), quite windy at times and from time to time we had some showers. This did not change during the day. The shoot ranged from 4C to 11C from start to finish and the wind ranged from 18km to 35km/hr. It was mostly from 6 o'clock although gusts could come from any direction and there were also times when it was "still" for a while. It was wise to wait for your condition but this was no guarantee of a 10X. We all ate a little humble pie but we had fun none-the-less.

Petition to the Government of Canada

Whereas:
  • The Ending the Long-gun Registry Act received royal assent on April 5, 2012, ordering the deletion of the wasteful and ineffective Long-gun Registry;
  • The Long-gun registry did nothing to enhance public safety in Canada; and
  • It has come to light that the RCMP have unlawfully retained a copy of the personal data that was ordered deleted by Parliament and continues to use said data.

We, the undersigned, residents of Canada, call upon the Government of Canada to

1. Ensure that the Ending the Long-gun Registry Act is fully upheld and that all personal data associated with the Long-gun Registry, including copies retained by the RCMP and other law enforcement agencies, is fully and permanently deleted;

2. Ensure the deletion is independently verified;

3. Launch an arm’s length public commission under the Inquiries Act to investigate the disregard for the rule of law exhibited by the parties that retained the Long-gun Registry data, that commissioners be appointed, that the commission be authorized to engage the services of the necessary experts, including legal counsel, to assist them in the inquiry, and that the results of the commission be made public.
