NOVEMBER 15, 2020 - MINTO RIMFIRE FUN SHOOT - RESULTS

After the Annual General Meeting and the award presentations were completed, all members present enjoyed a rimfire fun shoot. This was composed of 3 targets which were made up by John McC. and which were all shot at 50 yards. The first was composed of 10 small geometric designs randomly spread out on the sheet. The second target was made with 10 small jellybeans and the third with 10 small black beans. This was quite challenging as the shadow of a bean on the target was a black strip almost indistinguishable from the bean.

Thanks to John McC. who was the match director and score verifier and to Don M. who was the head scorer. Targets were changed by George M., Mike C., Dale H. and John M. ROs were Mike C. and George M. My apologies as I may have missed some people. Wayne K. provided the coffee and the donuts. Many thanks for all your help today fellas.

NOVEMBER 15, 2020 - MINTO - AGM and RIMFIRE FUN SHOOT

The Annual General Meeting of the Mnto Gun Club was held on November 15, 2020 at the Club-house in Minto. This was followed by the presentation of the year-end awards for excellence in shooting during the regular shooting schedule. Due to Covid-19 several recipients were not in attendance. It should be noted that a good number of competitions could not be held during the year. The awards were granted for those categories of shooting where sufficient matches were held.

NOVEMBER 8, 2020 - PETITCODIAC - RIMFIRE SPORTER FUN SHOOT

We changed things up a bit this year at our annual .22 Sporter competition with some different targets combined with introducing a couple of different shooting positions. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.   Thanks everyone for helping out. It sure makes the endeavor less stressful on this end.   After the dust settled three individuals emerged victorious: Gold medal won by Dan G., Silver medal by Volker T. and  Bronze medal won by Bruce B. OCTOBER 25, 2020 - PETITCODIAC FUN SHOOT

We were all happy to get back to competitions after the Moncton area was changed back to Covid Yellow. The weather was sunny but the temperature didn't get over 7C. The wood stove kept us warm though. There was some moderate wind to contend with. Fortunately, there were a few windflags which helped.

Targets at 50yds were a combination of USBR bullseyes, "Know Your Limits" target, and John McC.'s famous pills-n-candies targets. For the 100yds target, Volker T. chose an elongated rectangular bull. This made for some interesting scores.

SEPTEMBER 27, 2020 - PETITCODIAC CENTERFIRE CHAMPIONSHIP - RESULTS

Today was a beautiful fall day in New Brunswick with light overcast conditions that were just perfect for seeing the targets. As it warmed up a little, we shed our coats and rolled up our sleeves and had to adjust to a bit of mirage. The wind was also benign with few surprises, although in Petitcodiac the wind always has a little twist here and there, and today was no exception. We had to contend with a gust or two mostly in the final relay. It was also a day in which it was wise to consider multiple flags rather than rely on "just the one in line with your target".

Mysteriously, there were only 9 shooters in attendance. We had lots of fun and enjoyed the company as well as the lunch provided by John C. with dessert cooked up by Dorothy McC. During the shooting we had cookies made by Barb J., who usually does not shoot centerfire but who drove Cecil H. and stayed to help out. Timbit were in abundance thanks to Dan G. Thanks to all of you for the good food!

Today Volker T. was the match director and head scorer with Dan G. verifying the scores and stats. Targets were set and changed by John McC., Bruce B. and Bert deV. The Range Officers were John McC. and Darryl K. Thanks to everyone for your help today.

After the shooting was done, we returned to the PSC Club House for presentation of the awards. The highest target score of 100/10X was shot during the regular season, (which was a bit short this year due to the Covid-19 epidemic), by Bert deV. who also had the highest match score (300/24X).

Today's championship had 4 shooters who shot a 300 target. Congratulations are due to Volker T., John McC., Cecil H. and Bert deV.
