MARCH 8, 2020 - MINTO - RIMFIRE BR - RESULTS.

A bit of an unpredictable wind was the order of the day for the rimfire shoot in Minto today. It was a lovely day that started out a bit cold but warmed up to be +5 or 6 in the afternoon. A good bunch of shooters from the south of New Brunswick were in attendance anticipating a good shoot, nice weather, Barb's treats and a good time to get together.
We got all of that - plus the benefit of a learning opportunity in a stiff wind that
switched from right to left to head on. Picking a dominant condition was a crap shoot that some lucked out on and others
didn't (big time). When you had been watching the flags for a while and then settled in behind the scope and took that shot, the wind had changed again. A good number of shots were taken only to find that hole did not form in the 10 ring - but somewhere waaaaayy-out-there.
Congrats to the winners who shot very well indeed for the conditions.
Today, Mike C. was the match director and with Dale H. scored the targets and did the stats. Shawn R. and Ben F. did the bulk of the target changing with Becky McC. helping out.The range officers were
Barb J., Matt McA., Dave C.,
Wayne K., and Bert deV. Barb J. and Dave C. brought coffee and many treats. Many thanks to everyone.

MARCH 7, 2020 - LAKE GEORGE GUN CLUB - RIMFIRE BR - RESULTS

The final Terry F. McNeill Memorial Winter Benchrest Shoot for 2020 was held today at the Lake George Gun Club. It was a beautiful sunny day, cold -8C to -0C,  with confusing winds which caused the wind flags much stress as well as the brave shooters. Everyone helped with targets, and Range Officer duties, which made the shoot run smoothly. Dave C. and Wayne K. did the scoring and Bruce B. added up the totals of the three shoots. Special thanks to Bruce B. for providing home-made baked beans, bread, and hotdogs. Barb J. brought sweets. Barb J. and Darryl K. were the photographers. Thanks to them for the pics and to Barb J.  for the write-up of the shoot.
Congratulations to the medalists for today's shoot - especially to Volker T. who shot a 400 with 17X. For the three combined shoots the winning competitors
received beautiful plaques. Results for the 3 shoot series will be posted in the next post.

MARCH 1, 2020 - PETITCODIAC RIMFIRE BR - RESULTS

Although the weather forecasts on different sites said different things about today's forecasts, in general it was to be a miserable day with temperatures starting at about
-13C in the morning and ending up at about -6C in the afternoon. Lots of cloud, no sun and snow that was predicted to be anywhere from 20cm to maybe 2 cm. The wind was going to be northwest at 13km/hr gusting
to about 20.

I guess we got everything that was forecast except a little less snow and a bit warmer temps. The wind sure challenged all the shooters today, although surprisingly, both the scores and the X count were higher than anyone would have predicted based on the weather.

Twenty lucky shooters turned out today despite the forecast. They were lucky because they got to spend a day doing what they like doing with a bunch of good friends, eating Shelly C. and Barb J.'s delicious homemade treats, Volker T's Timbits and listening to stimulating shooting discussions.

Thanks to Volker T. who was the match director and organised the shoot today. Volker and Chris S. teamed up to score 40 x 25 bull targets - thanks guys, a big job indeed. Thanks also to the range officers - Bruce B., Dan G., Darryl K. and John McC. as well as the target changers Chris S., Mike C., Bruce B., Dan G., and John McC.

FEBRUARY 16, 2020 - PETITCODIAC CENTERFIRE BR - RESULTS

The first centerfire shoot of the 2020 season in Petitcodiac was attended by 13 eager shooters who were rewarded with a bright, sunny and relatively warm day. In
comparison to some days prior to the shoot it was positively balmy. We were also blessed with reasonably light winds which were predominantly from up-range (12 o'clock). Once we had a handle on the vertical deflection, we were
able to shoot pretty good scores. Congrats to Becky McC. who shot her first 100 and to Bert deV. who shot a 300/21X.
Welcome to a new shooter today. Mike A. shot very well and he also brought his girlfriend to the range. We hope she will join us in the
future.

Today, Volker T. was the match director and the grand pooba of scoring. Dan G. helped out with verifying the scores and the stats. The range officers were Dan G., Darryl K., Mike C., and Bruce B. Targets were
changed by Shelly C., John McC., Dan G. and Bert deV. The tasty treats were brought by Shelly C. and Dan G. Volker T. and Darryl K. were the photographers. Thanks to everyone for helping out today - it was a great shoot enjoyed by all.
