The Victoria Day weekend was a beautiful weekend for shooting and the weather certainly cooperated in Minto. It was sunny, dry, and although the day started out a bit cool, it became warmer as the day progressed.
However, it was very windy, with the wind changing from relay to relay. The wind on the first relay was steadily from the right - strong but predictable. On the next relay, it began to change and turn but still very strong. With each subsequent relay it became a switching wind until it was almost not predictable at the end.
Despite this, the 8 shooters who came to this match had a very good time. Shelly C. had
sent up her famous sweets with Tony L. George M. came to shoot pistol after the match and stayed to change targets. John McC. was the Match Director, organised the relays and also changed targets. Don M. and George M. were the scorer and verifier. Wayne K., Dave C., Bruce B., and Dan G. were the Range Officers. The targets were changed by Dave C., George M., Wayne K., John McC. and Bert deV. Many thanks to all for helping out.
After the match was completed, President Dave C. drew the winning card on the ammo donated by Peter Dobson. Wouldn't you know it, he drew his own card - despite intense ribbing, we concluded that all was on the up-and-up.
