OCTOBER 23, 2022 - MINTO - ANNUAL CENTERFIRE CHAMPIONSHIP - RESULTS

The Annual Minto Centerfire Benchrest Championship was held on a day that started out very foggy and at 5C early in the morning. The forecast was for a pleasant day and this came true when the fog lifted revealing steady sunshine and temperatures that rose to 18C.
The wind was gusty, mostly from the left but, as is typical for Minto, it came from all directions and sometimes was not evident at all. It was tricky to say the least and many shooters were surprised to see that the point of impact was quite different for that intended. Holding off was the rule of the day and careful attention to both the direction and velocity of the wind saved many potential tens.

There are many people to thank when you have a shoot as successful as this one. Wayne K. was the match director and head scorer with John McC. providing the verification. David C., whose vehicle broke down half way to the range, (thanks - squirrels who feasted on the truck's wiring), and who was rescued by Guy H., provided the coffee, drinks and lunch. David C., Darryl K. and Conrad L. were the ROs for the match and many people helped to change the targets. Darryl K. and Wayne K. took the pics. Thanks to everyone for your much appreciated help!

Thanks to Dan G.for the write-up and Darryl K. for the pictures. As predicted, we had a lot of fun today at our annual .22 BR fun shoot. We started with our regular center fire BR target at 100 yds...we then moved out to 130yds and another five bull plus sighter with a two bull groundhog on the same backer. Then the lighting and wind changed. Our next target was four silhouettes on one sheet followed by fifteen small steel silhouettes. Total for the day....57 shots for score plus numerous sighters. Awesome day with ten courageous shooters. Thank-you everyone for all your help, much appreciated !

SEPTEMBER 25, 2022 - PETITCODIAC - CENTERFIRE BR FINAL CHAMPIONSHIP - RESULTS

Thanks to Volker T. for these results and to Darryl K. for the pics.
Today, PSC held the Centerfire Benchrest Championship match. We had a relatively small crowd of ten,  but had two relays of eager shooters. The day was sunny and clear with a temperature of 13-19C. The  wind was a light 13 -20km, especially after hurricane Fiona left our area last night. Shooting in 100 km+  winds would not have been fun. Thankfully, all of our shooters had escaped the wrath of Fiona. The  lighting was good, but with almost unending mirage, shooters were challenged to get a clear picture of  the bullseye. Congrats to all three top scoring shooters: Bert deV., Dan G., and Malcolm McA.

We broke for a short lunch which was assembled thanks to John C. It was accompanied with nice  sweets, courtesy of Dorothy McC.
At the close of the match, Team medals were presented to the PSC Team which took 1st place at the  annual CF Team Shoot. Team members were: Dan G., Darryl K., Volker T., Tony L., Bruce B., and John  McC.

A plaque was presented to Malcolm McA. for the preliminary series High Match Score of 300x19. There was a four way tie among Dan G., Malcolm McA., Don M., and Bert deV. for the High Single Target score of 100x8.

Thanks to Dan G, who Directed all of the preliminary matches. Also to today's RO's, Bruce B. and John  McC., our photographer, Darryl K., and everyone who assisted in our match.
