It was 16C on the way to the range and 26C by the time the last shot was fired - not bad for August in New Brunswick. However, it was very humid all day which made it hard for some to breathe and others to keep a dry forehead!
The sun was out for about half the match while it remained overcast for the other. This gave us some good shooting conditions while the second half of the match was very difficult for some due to the mirage.
The wind was very well behaved, (at least for Minto), for a change. It was predominantly from the left (9:00 o'clock), but did change coming from all directions on the range. The change was in the velocity which was very mild - estimated at 0-10km/hr - with many periods of calm. If the wind died while coming from the left a shooter could count on 1 or 2 shots during the calm periods with no unseen wind effects. The results reflect good wind conditions and no sun for the higher scores while lower scores reflect conditions with mirage.
There were also some scope/sighting difficulties which threw a wrench into Conrad's plans for the match. He stuck it out and finished the match - congrats man!
Although some pretty good targets were recorded, clean match scores eluded us today.
