What a change in weather a few short days make!
Today started out at 14C and didn't change much over the course of the match - ending at 15C. The sun made absolutely no appearance all day long and it remained dark and overcast with rain. At the beginning of the match, the rain was light most of the time with occasional squals and a few heavy downpours. This gradually evolved into a steady heavy rain where a few minutes outside resulted in a thorough soaking. The wind, which usually puts a crimp in our scores in the Spring, was absent for about 3/4 of the match. Only the last two relays were affected by a relatively light wind coming from the right.
Targets came back to the scorer soaked and had to be dried on the stove before scoring. Thank goodness Wayne K. had again stoked the fire before we arrived - think about this - we were glad to have the woodstove crackling in June!
At any rate, attendance was small for the usual reasons centerfire shoots are not well attended, plus the dismal weather. We did have a lot of fun though and were able to progress through the match in a very relaxed way.
