JANUARY 9, 2016 - LAKE GEORGE 22BR SHOOT - RESULTS

It was a beautiful calm day for the very first Benchrest Shoot of the season. Lake George was teeming with shooters eager with anticipation - all had brought their best gear, their best winter clothes and their best smiles. 


Nineteen shooters showed up for the BR shoot - both Sporter Class and Open Class at 50yds. At the same time Steven S. was running a fun shoot at the 25yd and 100yd ranges for another dozen or so shooters. Welcome to Bill H., Reid A., Don C. and Wayne ? who attended a BR shoot for the first time.


The weather was a bit nippy at 5 below 0 (thanks goodness for a nice warm stove in the club house) but the wind flags did not move much at all - this remained pretty constant during the entire match. The wind flags were a bit deceptive as the berms at Lake George are staggered and the target changers were reporting quite a bit of wind between the berms. At any rate, the light remained consistent with a slight overcast sky.



Two targets of standard rimfire bulls were shot in Open Class for a possible of 400/40X. In Sporter Class 3 targets of Hunter Class centerfire bulls were shot for a possible of 300/30X. Some good shooting was done today with two 400 targets in Open Class - congrats to Cecil H. and Bert deV.

Today a large crew of workers made the shoot possible and a pleasure to attend. The Match Director and organizer was Terry McN. Bruce B. handled the registrations and the stats. The scorer was Wayne K. with Don M. verifying the scores. The Range Officers were Terry McN., Bruce B., John McC. and Bert deV. Target changers were Terry McN., John McC., Cecil H. and Dave C. Terry McN. was the chief cook of some marvelous hot dogs and Barb L. brought her delectible treats. Many, many thanks to all who worked on the shooters' behalf today.
