JUNE 4, 2016 - TEAM SHOOT AT 100YDS - RESULTS

The Great New Brunswick 22 Rimfire Benchrest Shoot was held in Minto on a grey and mildly windy Saturday with a record number of shooters attending. Right off the bat let's say it was a lot of fun. Then we got to mention the wind which was very benign up to about 50 yds. After that it was anybody's guess as it came out of the pit and across the target faces at very unpredictable (for most of us) speeds. A challenge indeed for a bunch of shooters who are not used to shooting rimfire at 100 yds to begin with. Despite that, (we could deal with the mosquitos and black flies and the cool temperatures), some pretty good shooting took place with Volker T. leading the pack and Darryl K. shooting the most Xs.

Shooters were sorted into three teams - Petitcodiac, Minto and Lake George depending on their own preferences since most of us belong to more than one club but with an effort to balance the numbers. All of the team members competed but only the top 4 scores were included in the final tally for the team. Congratulations go to Team Petitcodiac Sportsman's Club (again) for a win and a fine performance although the scores were pretty close. Team Lake George Gun Club came in second while Team Minto Gun Club brought up the rear - this is a very noble, generous and courteous gesture for the host club, don't you think?
The match director today was Terry McN. and Volker T. did the scoring while Dan G. was the score and stats verifier. The ROs today were Terry McN., Darryl K., Bill H., John McC., George M. and Bert deV. The targets were set and changed by Dave C., Bruce B., Guy H., George M., Roger L., Cecil H. and Wayne K. Dave C. brought the donuts while Terry McN. brought a feast of hamburgers and potato salad fit for a ravenous bunch of New Brunswickers. Thanks to all those who pitched in and to John M. for cooking the finest burgers this side of the border.
