FEBRUARY 25, 2018 - MINTO CENTERFIRE SHOOT - RESULTS

The Weatherman had predicted a pretty nice day for Sunday. It started out a bit cold and overcast with light winds but as the day wore on it became colder to the point where at least one old guy was suffering "frozen" fingers and toes. It remained overcast and the wind stayed light. Winds were from 6:00 o'clock and rarely switched. This allowed for some nice targets but no 300 scores were attained today. Unfortunately, two shooters had equipment problems and withdrew.
The match was organized by match director John McC. who also verified the scoring and statistics. Don M. did an excellent job scoring the targets. Bruce B. and Dave C. were the range safety officers.

George M., who was waiting for the hand-gun shoot to begin, Volker T., Bert deV., John McC., Dan G. and Bruce B. all helped with target changing. Thanks to all for lending a hand to make this shoot a success. Oh yes, Tony L. brought up Shelly C.'s wonderful squares which were gone way before the end of the match. Many thanks.

After the BR shoot Wayne K. organized the hand-gun shoot which was attended by a record number of shooters despite the cold. Congrats to Volker T. for winning both the CF and Rimfire portions!!

FEBRUARY 18, 2018 - MINTO - 22BR RESULTS

Thanks to Wayne K. for the pictures.
Our 22 shoot had been postponed from the week before when we were blessed by mother nature's winter gifts - a lot of snow. Prior to today's shoot we held the First Quarterly Minto Gun Club meeting and so we did not get started until late morning. We also competed for attendance with Petitcodiac which held a Centerfire BR match today and so missed many of our regular shooters.
It was a bit of an unusual day in Minto today for the 22BR and Sporter shoot in that it was sunny, relatively warm, (I think the temperature might even have hovered around zero degrees today), and, at least in the first half of the match, NO WIND!! A great day for starting new shooters of which there were three. We welcomed Mike C. to open class, Ben F. to Sporter Class and Shawn R. also to Sporter Class. Nice to see you guys and we hope you had fun. Hope also to see you throughout 2018.

Today Don M. was the match director and chief scorer with Matt McA. and Wayne K. verifying the scores and statistics. The Range Officers were Bruce B., Dave C., Wayne K. and Matt McA. Targets were changed by George M., Bruce B., Wayne K., Dave C., Mike C., Shawn R., Ben F. and Guy H. Dave C. brought the tea, coffee, Timbits and a good piece of the birthday cake Barb J. had made for Cecil H. and Carl J. the day before. Thanks, everyone, for your help to make this a very enjoyable day at the range.

JANUARY 21, 2018 - PETITCODIAC - CENTERFIRE BR - RESULTS

It was a nice day to host our match today. With only two relays it went fast. The temperature ranged from -7 to -1 degrees C, but it was sunny and light wind. We were able to rig the shutters to address the glare from the sun on the snow. This made for improved sight on the targets.
The Match Direstor today, was Volker T. who was also the scorer. Range Officers were
Brian P. and Dan G. Pictures by Darryl K. and write-up was send in by Volker T.
The targets were changed by Brian P., Shelly C., Dan G. and Mike A. Shelly C. brought her delicious treats and Dan G. the Timbits. Thanks, everyone, for your help. As you know, shoots don't just happen - they need the input from many to be successful.
Welcome to Mike A. who, at his first BR shoot, did very well indeed!

JANUARY 20, 2018 - LAKE GEORGE - 22BR - RESULTS

The day started out snowy and windy. Bruce B., the match director, had the "Welcome Mat" out and the clubhouse was warm and cozy.

Everything outside was shoveled and salted, even the path to the outhouses.

During the day, the snow eased off but not the wind. There were four windflags down range and each propeller was spinning in a different direction. This made shooting very trying at times. The sun came out after lunch and the merry, little breezes were actually warm for a short time. It was a lovely day at Lake George Gun Club.

Dave C. and Carl J. scored the targets, George M., Bruce B., Barb J. and Cecil H. changed the targets, while Bruce B., Norbert S. and Barb J. were Range Officers. Thanks to all for your help.

Bruce B. made his awesome chili for lunch, and also served up some delectible hot dogs. Barb J. brought sweets.  A special thanks to Bruce for carrying on the shoot in loving memory of Terry F. Mc Neill.
