JUNE 3, 2017 - ANNUAL 100yd RIMFIRE BENCHREST TEAM SHOOT - RESULTS

The weatherman called for rain with thundershowers later in the afternoon and evening. It didn't happen - or at least not until all the shooting was done, the gear was packed away and the flags were gathered up. Then it poured for about 5 minutes and that was that!
We enjoyed the team shoot tremendously. It was fun to shoot at 100 yards - something we don't do often enough. It sounds daunting but actually it requires the same skills in shooting and wind reading as shooting at 50 yards. It is so satisfying to see the bullet arc through the air and a moment later print a nice little hole somewhere near the X. It is just as frustrating to miss the 10 ring at 100 as it is at 50 yards. There was plenty of both in this match - great satisfaction AND, judging from the blue air around the shooters at times, great frustration. 
The course of fire was unlimited sighters with 20 counting shots per target for a possible of 400/40X. Kudos go to Darryl K. who shot a 198 out of 200 on his second target. Darryl was top scorer today with a 392/16X; Bert deV. was second with 387/13X; Cecil H. was third with 384/15X; Bill H. was fourth (on count back) with 384/15X and Chris S. was fifth with 381/10X.
Today, Volker T. was the Match Director and scorer with Dave C. verifying the scores. Targets were set and changed by John McC., Dan G., Dave C., Chris S., George M. and Bert deV. Range Officers were Dan G., Darryl K. and Bert deV. John C. arranged for a very fine lunch half-way through the competition. Many thanks to all who helped out to make this Annual Team Shoot a great event.
