The New Brunswick .22 Rimfire Benchrest Team Shoot was held at the Petitcodiac Sportsman's Club Rifle Range starting at 10:00am. and lunch was provided. Spotting scopes were allowed. Two paper targets were shot at 100 yards with 20 shots on score for each target for a total of 40 shots and 400 points. Each club represented could have a minimum of 4 shooters to a maximum of 7 shooters on their team. The top 4 scores on each club team were totaled for the team score and the club team with the highest score is the New Brunswick Champion.The Match Conditions (sent by Volker T.):
Well, the 'wind gods' were kind to the shooters today. The wind was very light, with only some increase in velocity at times. It was a great day to shoot 100yds., but sadly, nobody was able shoot a 400 at 100yds., (if we would have been shooting at 50yds, I'm sure there would have been several 500's shot today - the conditions were that good - and if course on a good day we're not too too bad shooters). But then again, most of us seldom shoot this distance. 
The lighting was good with a mixture of sun, changing to some overcast during the match, and it was pretty cloudy towards the end of the shoot. It was cool at the start, but warmed up a bit before cooling down again at the end of the match. Average temperature hovered around 13 degrees C. We will need to restart the wood stove again - winter is not far away!
Interesting to note that Anschutz rifles were used by eight out of the top ten shooters. The other rifles were a Remington, and a Frank de Haas custom build.
