The shoot today was preceded by the 4th Quarterly Meeting of the Minto Gun Club and under the expert guidance of Chairman Dave C. it progressed efficiently and ended in time for the normal
start time of the match.
The weather was quite nice for a Rimfire shoot with reasonable temperatures, lots of sun and winds that, in general, were predictable. For most of the shoot the wind was from the left with occasionally a head or tail wind and also
periods of calm. After sighting, most shooters had ample time to wait for their conditions to return. If you missed a wind change you paid dearly with shots going out of the 10 ring.
The competition was pretty close for most of the match. Congrats to Bert deV. for
shooting a 400/25X in open class.
The Match Director was Wayne K. who was also the head scorer with Ben F. verifying scores and stats. The ROs were Bruce B. and Barb J. Barb J. also brought the wonderful breads that were
gratefully devoured early on into the shoot. Targets were changed by Mike C., Dave C., Guy H., Ben F., George M. and Shawn R. Thanks to everyone for making this an enjoyable shoot.

AUGUST 19, 2018 - PETITCODIAC - 22 RIMFIRE BENCHREST - RESULTS
Well, today was an interesting Rimfire BR shoot at Petticodiac. The sky started out overcast and it was a bit cool for a very welcome change. One shooter even
fired up the stove for us. Glad it was a small fire, since the sun came out quickly and it warmed up to 26degC.
fired up the stove for us. Glad it was a small fire, since the sun came out quickly and it warmed up to 26degC.
The wind was a challenge. It was fickle, different and hardly ever stopped blowing - mostly from 2 to 6 o'clock. The few
times it did pause, shooters tried quickly to take advantage.
Even with this wind, surprisingly, there were 4 shooters who managed a 500. Chris S. got his first 250 score, and narrowly missed a 500. He shot a very good 499/19X. Congrats go to Bruce B. who shot his first 500 score with a 500/22X and received the coveted 500 Club crest for his efforts. Congrats to the other 500 score shooters for a very fine shoot - Volker T. with 500/23X, Darryl K. with 500/19X and Dan G. with a 500/18X.
We warmly welcome new shooter, Charles McQ. - hope you had a good time.
Thanks to Barb J. for her delicious treats and to Dan G. for the Timbits. Thanks to Dan G., Chris S. and Bruce B. for target setting and also to the Range Officers, Darryl K., Dan G. and Bruce B. Finally, thanks to Barb J. and Darryl K. for taking the photos.

AUGUST 18, 2018 - FLORENCEVILLE - SMALLBORE BENCHREST - RESULTS
It was threatening rain on the way up to Florenceville - the sky was black and filled with ominous looking thunderheads. The
weatherman had also predicted rain. Luckily, this happened more towards the south of the province and the range at Florenceville was spared a downpour. The Smallbore BR match, as usual, was blessed by largely unpredictable gusts of wind that varied in direction and velocity depending on which bench you used today. Despite that, some very respectable scores were shot - although every shooter was heard to groan at least once.
Jean S. was the match director and everything ran smoothly. Greg S., Ted S., and Ash P. were the scorers while Jean looked after the calculations and stats. Everyone went forward to change targets. The Range Officers were Ash P., Greg R. and Ted S.
Jean S. had again made a really delicious lunch with her potato salad, coleslaw and other goodies while Greg S. and Ted S. looked after barbequing the best hot-dogs north of the border! What a treat to have a great lunch after a great shoot and to do that in the company of such great people! Many many thanks.
RESULTS - SMALLBORE BR - OPEN CLASS:
Bert deV. - 235/5X + 242/5X + 235/3X = 712/13X
Ash P. - 234/3X + 236/2X + 221/2X = 691/7X
Greg S. - 224/1X + 226/2X + 238/5X = 688/8X
Jean S. - 218/2X + 231/3X + 228/2X = 682/7X
Mike C. - 228/3X + 220/2X + 226/4X = 674/9X

AUGUST 18, 2018 - FLORENCEVILLE 200m CENTERFIRE - RESULTS
After we had shot the Smallbore benchrest match and had a wonderful lunch provided by Jean S., those who had come to shoot the 200m match went to the upper ranges to set up.
The conditions were much better than the last time with much cooler temperatures and a consistent head wind that did not get over 20km/hr in velocity. The sun stayed hidden for most of the match and this was really helpful as the mirage was non-existent for the first relay and very minimal for the next two.
The Match Director for this match was Ash P. Ash was also the head scorer with all of us chirping in from time to time - casual and relaxed it was! Greg S. and John McC. set and changed targets using Greg's truck to get down range more quickly. The ROs were Ash P., Greg S. and Ted S. Thanks guys, it was a lot of fun to shoot together.
RESULTS - 200m CENTERFIRE BR:
Bert deV. - 99/4X + 98/4X + 95/4X = 292/12X
Greg S. - 94/1X + 96/3X + 96/2X = 284/6X
Mike C. - 92/2X + 95/2X + 95/1X = 282/5X
John McC. - 95/2X + 88/1X + 96/1X = 273/4X
Ted S. - 87/1X - 86/2X + 87/0X = 260/3X
RESULTS - 200m CENTERFIRE PRONE:
Ash P. - 92.1X + 92/3X - 88.0X = 272/4X

AUGUST 12, 2018 - MINTO CENTERFIRE BR - RESULTS
Well, August is progressing well with nice temperatures, lots of sun and hardly any wind at the centerfire shoot in Minto.
The day started out with temperatures under 20C at the start of the day. It did get
warmer and by the afternoon it was quite hot. The humidity also rose so that shooting for some was a perspiring event. Good thing some had a towel at the ready. It stayed largely cloudless throughout the day and it was nice to have the sun out. As mentioned above, the wind was very light although quite tricky. Sometimes the wind flags in one part of the range were totally quiet while others were active. A number of shooters experienced "head-scratchers" - shots that should have landed in the 10 ring but inexplicably popped out. Often there was the theory that there was something going on - maybe a scope problem, maybe a load issue - but in reality it was probably the wind conditions that played with our minds.
Congrats to Bert deV. for shooting a 300/18X today.
Today, John McC. was the match director while Don M. was the head scorer. Norbert S. and Volker T. verified the scores and calculations. The Range Officers were Bruce B.,
Bill H. and John McC. Targets were set and changed by John McC., Bert deV., Bruce B. and Volker T. We all enjoyed the squares that Shelly C. had made and Tony L. brought to the match. Thanks everyone for your help today.
Today we also presented Bill H. with his 400 Club Badge as he shoot a perfect target at our last Rimfire match - his first! Congrats again Bill.

AUGUST 5, 2018 - PETITCODIAC - 22 RIMFIRE BR - RESULTS
Eighteen shooters attended this, the first BR shoot in August. It's hard to believe the year has already progressed to "August"!!
It was a pretty good day that started out a bit cooler than the temperatures of the past couple of weeks. This morning, the temperature hovered around 20C before the shoot began. It quickly rose to the high 20s or low thirties. The sun came out midway through the match and produced some bright targets but very little, if any, mirage. With the exception of a bit of drizzle very early in the morning, it stayed dry even though the forecast was for rain.
The wind was also very benign with low wind velocity. But it was very tricky in that the wind was different at any particular time across the range. It reversed, twisted and turned and circled throughout the entire match with the first relays being the easiest. It was hard to know when your condition had returned and the best strategy seemed to be to wait for a calm condition.
There were some very good scores posted today. Congratulations go to Norbert S. who shot his first ever 500 match and joins the Petitcodiac 500 Club with a score of 500/23X. Also to Bertde V. with a score of 500/27X
Dan G. was the match director and head scorer with John McC. verifying the scores. Targets were set and changed by John McC., Mike C., Barb J., Guy H. and Bert deV. The Range Officers were Bruce B.,
John McC. and Dan G. Treats were brought by Dan G., Shelly C. and Barb J. Thanks to all of you for your contributions today. It was a fine shoot and you made it so.
