APRIL 6, 2025 - PETITCODIAC RIMFIRE BR - OPEN - RESULTS

The weather was miserable en route to and at the range. The temperature ranged from -1 to +3C with overcast skies and cold rain present most of the time.
Winds of 10-30km/hr were mostly from the south. There were some calm periods that shooters tried to take advantage of before it disappeared.
All in all, scores were close and quite good. Congrats to Dale H. who shot a clean match with a score of 500/12X.
PEOPLE TO THANK
Donuts, which went fast, were provided by John M.
With regard to helping with target duty, the stove, and assisting in the match, thanks are due to just about everyone.

MARCH 30, 2025 - MINTO - RIMFIRE BR - OPEN/SPORTER - RESULTS

It is springtime in New Brunswick but you wouldn't know it when looking at the snow and plow trucks outside. We have had 3 pretty good storms here since March 21st and it has been cold and dark most days.

So when the opportunity for a shoot on a nice day arose, everyone hopped into their cars with all their gear and drove to Minto for the first Rimfire BR match in 2025 that wasn't cancelled. Some of us brought new equipment and some were testing different ammo. Whatever can be said about the results, we had a lot of fun shooting and getting together with friends.
RELAY #1
The day started off with the temperature hovering around -11C and by the time the match was done, it was a balmy +3C. The sun was out from time to time and shooters gathered in little clumps to catch up on the news and soak up some sunrays.
RELAY #2
The wind was the real story today when it came to shooting accurately. It was literally all over the place. During the first relay, when it was still fairly cool, it was predominantly from the right at about 5-10km/hr. This pattern quickly deteriorated to switching winds from all directions with occasionally some quiet periods thrown in for good measure. We were thankful that it hadn't picked up any speed.
RELAY #3
Welcome to new BR shooter, Mike B., who has been a member of the Minto Gun Club for quite a while.
After the match and the scoring was completed all gathered for the award presentations. First up was the presentation of annual shooting awards that could not be presented at the Christmas shoot last year. Congrats to Volker T. and Gerald D.

MARCH 23, 2025 - PETITCODIAC - RIMFIRE BR, OPEN - RESULTS

Thanks to Darryl K. for the pics and to Volker T. for the results and the report.

The weather started out with 2C temps and light rain. It soon dropped to -2C and snow flurries as the first relay made ready to shoot. Winds were light to moderate from the SW. There was, at times, uneven wind between sides of the range - not always a bonus.
One 500 score with a good handful of X’s was shot - congrats Bruce B. The turnout was good with all happy to participate in the match. A good match.
Both heaters were running to provide some warmth.

PEOPLE TO THANK: Chris S. as Scorer, Grant H. as Verifier, Chris S. and Dan G. on Targets, John McC. and Dan G. as RO’s, and Dan G. and Bruce B. for the sweets.

MARCH 16, 2025 - MINTO - CENTERFIRE BR, OPEN/SPORTER - RESULTS

This was technically the third shoot of the 2025 season in Minto. Actually, it turned out to be the first as the others had been cancelled due to inclement weather.
Speaking of the weather, it was quite nice for the middle of March with temperatures ranging from +3C in the morning to 12C when the shoot finished. The weatherman had called for rain but this did not materialise until well after we all got home. The light was good as it remained overcast for the whole day with only periods where mirage was noticeable with higher power scopes. The wind was quite benign ranging from almost nothing to about 15km/hr coming mostly from the left across the range. Wind switches were a bit of a problem being quite sudden and unpredictable.

PEOPLE TO THANK:
David C. - match director, scorer, coffee and cookies
Bert deV. - score verification, pictures
Guy H., Bruce B., Mike C. and David C. - target changers
Danny G., Mike C. and Conrad L. - range officers

FEBRUARY 23, 2025 - PETITCODIAC - RIMFIRE BR, OPEN - RESULTS

Thanks to Volker T. for this write-up and to Darryl K. for the pictures.
Today a handful of shooters arrived for the first shooting match in Petitcodiac of 2025.
It was a small group similar to last year’s turnout, but we had fun.

The sky was overcast for most of the time and temps ran from -9C to -1C, with a light breeze blowing off and on - mostly from the west. With only a pair of windflags courtesy of Grant H., a lot of eyes were on them, but occasionally, some shooters missed the ten ring. We all tried, but no perfect score; scores were actually quite good.
Thanks to Chris S. and Grant H. for scoring, verifying targets, and for their work setting up the target stands and target changing duty. Chris S. was the Range officer. Photography by Darryl K.
Second Place - Grant H.
Third Place - John McC.
Volker brought the Tim’s do-nuts which all enjoyed.
First Place - Darryl K.
RESULTS - 22RF BENCHREST AT 50YDS:
Darryl K. -   249x6  +  250x8   = 499x14
