MARCH 29, 2015 - PETITCODIAC 22BR SHOOT - RESULTS

Thanks to Volker T. for this write-up, some pictures and results. Thanks also to Barb J. for some other pictures.
Today was a great day to shoot. Sunshine! Finally, we were able to make it to the range after last week-end’s cancellation of a postponed CF BR shoot! The sun was out with temperatures ranging from -5 to +2C, fluctuating winds of 20km from the NW, W, and SW. which made for some interesting shots. There was the glare of the sun off the snow dunes to contend with. Target setters had to trudge cautiously over the ice patches. Thanks to the guys who did this. Thanks as well, to the Range Officers (and the Match Director). And Barb, of course, for the great sweets - they all disappeared quickly.
So, keep your trigger finger sharp, shooting friends, until next time.

The Shamrock runs this weekend in Dublin, GA. There are 4 intrepid Canucks who made the treck; Rob S, Dave A, Andy L and Hugh W. Many thanks to Rob S for sending the pictures.

Sounds like they are in store for a cool and switchy weekend.

Good luck to our shooters!

MARCH 22, 2015 - MINTO CENTERFIRE BR - RESULTS

Thanks to Wayne K. and Terry McN. for sending this report.

"There were six brave souls that attended the Minto Centerfire shoot this morning.
There were seriously snowy roads starting out which we are all getting used to here in NB. We had the pleasure of shooting in light winds. As the morning progressed so did the winds. Eavesdropping on the firing line yielded gems such as these comments:
'NO 300'S TODAY' and ' WHERE DID THE TARGETS GO?'. With an additional 4 inches of fresh snow  things were interesting to say the least. Just the same we all had good fun. "

MARCH UPDATE - RNBRA

Hi folks;
As I prepare this update we, in the tropical southern part of the province, are preparing for what is certain to be one of Old Man winters final gasps. I am currently looking forward to black fly season but before that, we will still have to suffer through maple sugar season and all the temptations that presents. Every Herring Choker that has yet to experience the pleasures of a working sugar camp is missing an important part of our heritage.
OK - enough rambling. The first thing I'd like to report is the success of our Canada Winter Games Team. Despite several challenges which included an

MARCH 7, 2015 - LAKE GEORGE - MATCH RESULTS AND 3 MATCH SERIES RESULTS

Thanks to Terry McN. for sending the write up and thanks also to Barb J. for sending the pictures and the match results.
"It was a cool start to the shoot this morning, -21C outside but warm in the clubhouse thanks to Bruce B.We had a good turn out with 9 shooters in total. The temperature came up throughout the day and so did the wind which was reflected in the second relay's scores. Cecil H. was even rattled and dropped two points but that was not enough to put him out of 1st place with 398/15X in Open Class. Second was Terry McN. with 396/13X. In the Sporter class it was a battle between Wayne K. and Bruce B. with Wayne K. coming out on top by 2 after 30 rounds at 292/11X.

There were prizes for first and second overall in the 3 match series. In Open Class Cecil H. placed 1st with 1198/35X while Terry McN. came in second with 1186/30X.  In Sporter class Wayne K. placed first with 865/34X while Bruce B. came in second with 832/31X.

Thanks to every one who participated and to those who helped out at the range.                           Thanks, Terry"

Shooting Report for the NB Blog for March 1st, 2015
Today was a great day to shoot. The sun was out, light 20km wind….although it proved a bit switchy at times…and unexpectedly for some shooters. The temperatures rose from -16 up to -6. along with no snow! There was already enough snow on the ground, approx. 3- 4ft deep.
As happens sometimes, there were some issues. There always are - aren't there? The writer forgot his bolt! You’d think by now this wouldn’t happen anymore. LOL. Thanks to Bruce B. for the loan of his rifle and rests. Several shooters had ammunition issues, ranging from erratic placement of shots fired, to one shooter who had multiple misfires from one box of ammo. Looks like there was something lacking in quality control. All from the same manufacturer.
But, the match went smoothly. Thanks to the target runners, range officers, etc., to Dan G., Shelly C., John McC., and Barb J. for the tasty sweets. The sweets always seem to make up for disappointing issues.
So, here is your Director wishing you well and reminding you to keep your trigger finger sharp until next time.
