Thanks to David C. for sending the results and to Cecil H. for sending the pics.
Although the day started with freezing temperatures (-2C on the drive to the range), this you could actually call a "Spring Day". It was sunny and the temperatures did come up, (0C at the start of the match and about 10C at the end). Certainly a lot better than any shooting day in New Brunswick before this match.
The wind was basically as it was described for the majority of the matches shot in 2026 - strong at times, blustery at times, sometimes quiet and most often switching from about 2 o'clock to 12 o'clock to occasionally from 9 to 12 o'clock. A difficult wind to read well and a cold wind when it blew into the open gun ports of the shooting building. It makes a fellow wish for the warm quiet summer days.
As seems to be more typical for the 2026 shoots, this centerfire match was attended by a small number of (5) shooters. This led to one relay each of open class and sporter class and a short match overall, even though we took breaks between relays to warm up in the heated clubhouse. We all had good talks and lots of fun. Congrats to Cecil H. for the top score in sporter class and to Bert deV. in open class. . . . and "Yes" there were some pretty good target sheets shot by each one of the shooters, although the usual wind calling mistakes were also (sadly) present.
